Nevil Eastwood, Director, HFHI Construction and Environmental Resources Department:

Ceramic tile has been used by many affiliates in the U.S., particularly in the Southeast region where tile is typically used in the construction industry for floor covering. Affiliates would normally buy the product and have subcontractors install it, adding extra cost to the house. Through this partnership where affiliates could access it as a donation and have training on the installation of it, they could keep the house price affordable.

HFHI would welcome the tile as it is a durable building material that will last the lifetime of the house, which is in line with our mission of building simple, decent, affordable and long-lasting and durable houses.

Derrick Morris, Director, Product Partners, Corporate and Foundation Giving:

Simple, decent homes can and should be built with lasting quality. The collaborative effort of the tile industry through the Tile Partners for Humanity ensures just that. This partnership exemplifies how the possibility of “can” coupled with the power of “will” produces results. We at Habitat for Humanity International look forward to an enduring partnership with TPFH and its industry partners as we join in the battle to eliminate poverty housing.
