Clare County HFH: two-house project
(Michigan, February/March 2005)

Dan Welch of Welch Tile donated time to teach nearly 40 students in a building trades class to install tile in two Habitat homes in Harrison, Michigan. Clare County Habitat for Humanity asked the tile industry to train the students, many of whom plan to enter a trade upon graduation. Dan worked with John Holliday of Laticrete and Joe Tinghitella of James Hardie Building Products to teach the students at Mid Michigan Community College on Feb. 28, 2005. The students, who came from five area high schools, worked with their course instructor to set 500 square feet of tile in two Habitat homes in Harrison. There are no current pictures of this project, but TPFH will post them once they are available.
