Youth Build/Church Coalition
Build: HFH of Greater Baton Rouge (Louisiana,
October/November 2004)
Viking Distributors of Baton Rouge, Louisiana,
donated a total of 1,100 square feet of ceramic
tile for the home of Sonja Pania, a new Habitat
homeowner in Baton Rouge’s Crosscreek neighborhood.
Owner Galen Vicknair visited Pania’s home
while industry volunteers, including Donny Walton
of Orchid Ceramics and Jack LeBlanc of Laticrete,
worked with local Habitat volunteers to tile
the home.
From Sonja Pania, new homeowner whose house
was tiled with tile donated by Viking:
I am in love with my floors!!! It is really
great having ceramic tile instead of the vinyl
tile that wears and has to be replaced, and carpet
that traps all types of allergens. As a result
of having the ceramic tile, I am experiencing
fewer allergy problems at home. I have no more
runny, irritated eyes, I do not wake up in the
middle of the night sneezing, and I have fewer
allergy related headaches. Two jobs and traveling
the globe with teenagers who happen to be involved
in sports leaves me very little time for house
cleaning. Having the ceramic tile has really
made house work a breeze and it is extremely “Sonja” friendly.
I want to thank Viking Distributors and all the
Tile Partners for Humanity. You are truly a blessing
to me and my family.
