I think this partnership will help us educate our affiliates across the country to the importance of building a house that is usable by the families and which, by its very nature, will be easy to clean and the families will be able to keep clean at a very minimal expense.
-- Millard Fuller, Founder and President, Habitat for Humanity International

Habitat for Humanity of Laredo/Webb County
(Texas, July 2004)

Laticrete donated setting materials, including thinset and SpectraLock grout, to help tile six homes in Rio Bravo, Texas, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Laredo/Webb County. The homes are part of a larger Habitat neighborhood set in a new development near the US/Mexican border. Since the neighborhood is new and would not have paved roads until after the families had moved in, the affiliate requested tile floors so that they would be durable and able to withstand heavy dirt traffic from the unpaved roads outside. Rick Alvarado, Laticrete technical sales representative in southwest Texas, spent several days working with the affiliate to teach homeowners and volunteers to tile and grout the new homes.
