I think this partnership will help us educate our affiliates across the country to the importance of building a house that is usable by the families and which, by its very nature, will be easy to clean and the families will be able to keep clean at a very minimal expense.
-- Millard Fuller, Founder and President, Habitat for Humanity International

HFH of Benton County (Arkansas, February 2005)

James Hardie Building Products donated 34 boards to cover 500 square feet of tile in the Habitat for Humanity home of Brig Caldwell and his wife, Maureen Obando. Brig and Maureen had actually moved into their home one year earlier, but the laminate flooring that they had installed failed when the washing machine overflowed. Brig and Maureen worked with industry partners and local volunteers to install tile in their home in late February.

This Habitat volunteer installs Orchid tile with Laticrete setting materials over Hardibacker tile backerboard.   Maureen, a Habitat homeowner, cleans the newly-tiled floors in her Habitat home in Rogers. JHBP donated Hardibacker for the project.
