From Jason McKinstry, President of Habitat for Humanity
West Coast Resouce Center. McKinstry coordinated the
project for HFHOC:
“This is an amazing partnership for our affiliate
and one that we hope to maintain for years to come.
In addition to the materials, these partners taught
our crewleaders to install tile. We can now train other
volunteers and homeowners to handle the tiling in future
homes. Habitat is all about learning and sharing new
skills, and this is one we know we will use time and
again.”
From Henry Donovan, President and CEO of Orchid Ceramics:
“Orchid is a young company and this is the first
opportunity we’ve had to really get involved
in one of the communities in which we are present.
We were impressed with the fact that Habitat offers
a “hand up, not a hand out” to its homeowners
and that they worked alongside local volunteers to
build their homes. As small as we are, giving back
to our community is important to our team morale and
to our ownership and we’re delighted to be able
to help in whatever way we can.”
From John McMullen, Senior Vice President of Custom
Buiding Products:
“Custom Building Products is a successful company,
and we feel a sense of responsibility to share our
success by helping with the growth and development
of our community. Habitat for Humanity is an organization
whose values and good work we have tremendous respect
for and we are proud to support their efforts.”
From Gray LaFortune, Executive Director of CTIOA:
“CTIOA believes in Habitat’s practice
of teaching new skills, and the crewleaders who worked
with us will train local volunteers and homeowners
to set tile in future homes. Habitat recognizes the
value of tile in its homes and Paul and I were proud
to be a part of the project.”
From Paul Wilson, Assistant Director of CTIOA:
“I knew I was in the right place when we had
morning prayer before getting started. Working with
Mr. Millard Fuller and Ms. Ally Fertitta over the years
has been rewarding and inspirational. When I go to
a Habitat build, I meet the most hard-working, loving
and wonderful people hard at work doing what they enjoy.
The group in Costa Mesa, California, was no exception.
It is a true pleasure to be involved in a Tile Partners
for Humanity project every time.”
